Adding second runnings to top off boiloff?

If i have some left over second runnings because my kettle is too small for a 7.5gallon boil, can i add some of the second runnings to the last 10 minutes or so of the boil to account for boiloff?

That is not a bad idea and I don't see why it would not work. I usually keep my second runnings for yeast starters on the next batch

Not as much as adding water would

If you're fly sparging, just make sure the SG of your runnings aren't too low and I think you'd be golden.

It will work fine but make sure you get it back to a full boil for a few minutes to kill off the bacteria.

I've done it on occasion when I didn't have a big enough kettle for what I was brewing. It works fine.

I am doing a batch sparge with an oatmeal stout. Should be awesome. I will normally have to add about a gallon water after boil is over so i figure i can add about that much in fresh wort about the last 15 minutes in with my IC..

It was a success. OG was at 1.045......perfect
