So I've come up with a recipe but not sure if it a viable technique so..lemme know what ya think...

I'm planning on adding it in secondary in my FastFerment. My plan is to reduce down some orange marmalade remove from heat add a little more freshly zested orange peel and then some thawed out frozen orange that I ive crushed with no peel or pith...Im also adding some cocao nibs. But I really just wanna know what ya think of the orange technique...this is my first brew in years...so I wanna start off with a great bang. Thanks ahead of time for any input/tips..:rockin:

I personally would stay away from the fruit portion of the orange. I've heard that the citrus juice doesn't play well. Now, the orange peel sounds great. When I added lemon zest to a blonde, I used 1.25 oz and it was just about right. For a heavy stout and the fact that orange flavor seems milder, I'd go with a good bit more.

I'm curious to see how it turns out because I like the orange and chocolate flavor combo elsewhere.

Marmalade and juice probably isn't the way to go. Look around for recipes that use lots of zest.

But I'm no expert on this. Mostly just here to sub so I can see how this turns out.

Dried zest or peel is probably your best option. Drying it brings out more flavor than fresh. I agree that you should stay away from the fruit/juice ideas.
