Just like the title states. I feel like my pumpkin ale is to thin. I never used lactose and saw in previous threads that it adds just sweetness. Is there any other flavors that would be noticeable? And how much should I add? Thanks
Ken

I added a pound in the last pumpkin ale I did, but that was to the boil. Don't know what it will do after it's fermented.

Lactose is not fermentable. I added mine at bottling time and used 1 lb. I think it gave my pumpkin ale a creamier mouthfeel along with a bit of sweetness.

ohh yea forgot to mention this is post-ferm Thanks. And from what i have read it is basically unfermetable so would it matter post or pre fermentation?

Thanks i was thinking more along the lines of 1/4# to maybe a 1/2# at the most.

Yeah, I knew that. I was more concerned with sanitation issues. I think I'd heat it in a bit if water to sterilize before adding post ferment.
