I just racked my honey ale into the secondary fermenter about a week after brew day. The three days prior to racking it I had took a gravity reading each day, all coming in at 1.020(which is a lot higher than I was hoping for). So before I racked it, I boiled a few cups of water with about 8 ounces of honey in it and put it in the secondary in hopes of lowering the gravity a little bit. I was expecting a light fermentation with a few air bubbles, instead I got a violent fermentation only several hours after racking. It's bubbling like crazy and has a thick layer of krausen again. I wasn't expecting so much activity from such a small amount of sugar. I have no doubt that the beer will be stronger now bit did I screw up the flavor?

Congratulations, you just made your beer drier.

I'm not sure what your boil amount was but you can look up the gravity points of honey based on how much you used and estimate how much alcohol it will add to your beer and how much it will lower your gravity.

My guess is now that you've sparked your yeast into a frenzy again, they will have an easier time finishing off that 1.020 to get to a better FG, with the addition of the honey, it will probably be even lower.

No, you didn't mess up your beer. It will probably just be a bit more boozey than you anticipated.
