adding ginger & pepper

Hi,
i am making a 9 liters beer batch .
is it ok to add ginger & black pepper to it ?
and how should i do it ?

I've had success with both ginger and black pepper in cider, I add 1 tablespoon of ground ginger or whole peppercorns to a 1gallon demijohn at the very start, could be a starting point for experimenting. I've never added both to one brew though (may give it a whirl) Texteditor
