Acorn ale?

Hello everyone,

I'm very new here and would like to ask whether anyone here has had any experience with experimenting with acorn as a sugar-source.

The acorn season is coming and I think to maybe give it a try.

I researched this myself last year. The result of my searches was that acorns cannot be used due to some sort of awful bitterness (tannins?). If you find more info, or try it yourself, I'd love to hear about it.

I also looked into a year or two ago. The tannins have to be leached from the nuts.
