I still consider myself new to home brewing. I have bottled many batches, and have started taking interest in kegging. I saw this post on Craigslist today and contacted the owner.

I am sorry to ask such a noob question, but what concerns should I have with the quality or condition of the equipment? I know the carboys/fermentation stuff, but the CO2 and regulator would be new to me.

Thank you in advance for your patience. I think he agreed to a decent price and I am looking to buy it now because of that.

The co2 cylinder looks to be in at least decent shape. That should be fine. The regulator is something that can be very sensitive. I bought one off of CL about a year ago. I had to replace it because it had a bum diaphragm and a busted gauge.

By the looks of the picture, it seems to be in decent shape, but its one of those things that you really can't tell until you use it.

Good luck.

Thanks for the information. He wants $100 for all of it. Although, now he can't find the second keg. So:

1 - 1 5LB Co2 Tank
1 - Professional Grade Co2 Regulator
1 - 5Gal Dispensing tanks
2 - Glass Carboys
3 - Fermentation Buckets
Miscellaneous hoses, fillers

He said a few other things as well. I am generally not a cheap person. Should I just hold off and buy a kit from one of the vendor sites? I will not hold anyone's advice against them, of course.

Also, what am I looking for on the certification date? I apologize if all of this info is in the wiki. I just know there are some very helpful people on this board. Thank you.
