Hi All,

I've been waiting to brew my own beer for a long time and I think now is a good time to get it started! There is a local brew supply near my house, http://beerandwinemakers.com/, that I plan on checking out on Tuesday. Probably buy a book or two and maybe even a brewing kit. I look forward to browsing the forums, asking questions and most importantly brewing my own beer.

Welcome!

Definitely check out www.howtobrew.com

As far as books go, I've always found The New Complete Joy of Homebrewing and The Homebrewer's Companion (both by Charlie Papazian) to be very helpful.

And of course, this forum can help answer any questions you have. Good luck getting started!

Definitely been bitten, I think watching all the Beer shows on MOJO really got my blood flowin. Thanks for the book links, I actually ordered The New Complete Joy of Homebrewing from amazon today, $4 shipped.

So much to learn and plenty of time!

Well only about 10 months later and I finally have my first batch brewing. :p

Work, moving to DFW and all kinds of other things got me a little distracted but I'm back on the path. I found another great home brew shop by my new house http://www.homebrewhq.com/ and they got me setup with this kit http://www.homebrewhq.com/ProductDetails.aspx?productID=1064 My first Bock is currently in the secondary fermenter. I can't wait to bottle!
