? about DME package - a little "puffy"

Greetings all!

I've had my supplies for my next batch for a couple of months (holidays, family health issues have taken priority) and I noticed last night that my package of DME is puffed out some. Normally, the packages I get from my local supplier are "tight" but I truly don't remember if this one was or not. Is this something I should worry about i.e. get a replacement?

As long as it isnt YEARS old, you'll be fine. I think the DME holds better than LME.

My experience has been that there is negative puff on those.

Make sure to boil at least 15 minutes.

Nothing can live on DME. It's hygroscopic and will pull moisture out of anything that tries. Then it turns into a rock-like material, which is still usable.
