Well I joined Homebrew talk back in 2005, but I have not been very active on the forums the past few years because to be honest, I was tired of all the non-helpful bickering and people who think their way is the only way to produce good beer. Debate is healthy, but the being close minded to other people's processes is not in my opinion. We can all learn from each others experiences at all levels. I guess over time I've missed the internet comradery over the years because I am starting to have a renewed interest in forums. I used to be most active on Northern Brewer's forum and the Brew Board, but I'm thinking now Homebrew Talk and the AHA forums may be a better fit for me. When I left the forums, I took up blogging like so many other homebrewers, and have a blog at www.barleypopmaker.info. You're welcome to check it if you are interested in that sort of thing.

Over the years since I first joined homebrew talk, I have taken and passed the BJCP exam (I actually am waiting for re-test results at this point as well), been the president of our local homebrew club, self published a short book on home roasting grains, and pretty much worked on increasing my knowledge of my brewing system, tweaking processes, and trying to learn as much as I could though experimentation and reading. So I've been busy with being involved in the hobby that I love, just not so much on the forums.

I look forward to getting know you all, and probably getting re-acquainted with others.

Welcome back. I also have quit forums over the "I'm right, everyone else is wrong" syndrome. I think this one is pretty good, and I belong to a small friendly forum called BeerBorg. But this is definitely the king of beer forums. And I find that if someone is too harsh, someone else calls him out. I'm glad you're back, you sound like you have a lot to contribute.

Welcome back. I think on the net it is hard to avoid overly self important people, fortunately it is easy to hit the back button and move on.

Still the best homebrew forum on the net.
