A question on bottles

I know brown pop top bottles are the ideal, but can anyone answer if resealable growlers are a viable option?

Option for? Don't carb in them, the pressures in carbing tend to break growlers, they're more for pulling a stash from a keg for to-go brews.

I'm a big fan of the flip top pint bottles out there as my main go-to. Bottling goes a bit quicker, but still more portable, and less hardware/costs than kegging.

I've heard multiple theories on carbing in a growler (good and bad). I decided to try it for my self. I brewed a test batch of a pale ale last month and put it all in a 1 gal growler. I'll post if anything bad happens in the next few days...

one step ahead of you. Wrapped the growler in a plastic bag and put it in a bucket with a lid.

Yea dont carb in growlers, on the other hand DO carb in kegs and transfew to growlers for maximum partying

It should be noted, that we are probably assuming you're talking about screwtop growlers. If you mean those swing-top thick walled type that are essentially big beer bottles, they should be fine.

I honestly don't see the difference between an amber 22oz bottle and a 64/128oz growler. The glass on amber bottles is thinner and I can pry the top off with my teeth. I can't take the top off of a growler with my teeth...

Am I missing something here?
