It is a coincidence. I'm based in NY and it also shows Columbus for me as well. But if it were not a coincidence, it would be fairly easy for them to know where you were based and do location based results. When you go to a website it will see your IP address which it can easily see where you are located.

For example, go to What Is My IP Address? - IP Address Lookup, Internet Speed Test, IP Info, plus more and up top it will say "your IP address is: [xx.xx.xx.xx]". If you click on that number and then on the next page click the "lookup" button then you will see the kind of info you can get from an IP address. It may not show your exact location, but will show the general vicinity of where you live.

I knew you could obtain location from IP's, That's how the pop ups always know just to show me sexy singles in my city! :D

Just didn't know, but apparently it's not using this info if the NY guys above got Columbus as well.

I didn't look around it very much. Looked kind of garbled. I searched one thing and got just complete random results not related to my search at all, and then the descriptions had nothing to do with the image. very disorganized.

Found some cool industrial size freezers as well as some blood-bank freezers with what seemed to be very detailed external digital controls for around $150. I'd hate to see the shipping cost on something like that!

I been watching this site on a semi-regular basis for a couple years. There can be some really interesting finds.

A couple of things to keep in mind:

1) They don't ship!! You'll have to pick up or contract with a shipper to handle your goods. They do have a page where you can locate a shipper.

2) A lot of the stuff isn't good for much more than salvage. Pay attention to the Condition coding. It's listed on the item manifest area. ie. H7=unserviceable, or B2= working but approaching self life

3) Pay attention to the quantities. Do you really want 14,000 o-rings.

4) Some items may have special conditions, like overseas or domestic only; or demolition required.

Happy hunting,
Rick

Some of the auctions are at the liquidators site others the stuff is at various military bases.

Some of the lots are a mixture of junk and may have 1 item in it that relates to your search. The descriptions can be very confusing because often they are written in Mil-spec.

Thanks for the pointers. I became aware of this site after reading a new article about them opening a wharehouse here in OKC. Been filtering through some stuff but, haven't found anything I can't live without. Then again, you neve know when you'll be in need of a 1000 brake drums for an Army tank.
