I boiled off a little too much of my Pale Ale yesterday and had to add a half gallon of water to reach my desired volume.

Before adding the water, I took my OG reading of 1.064 at 4.7 gallons and forgot to take one after adding it.

Can anyone figure out the OG after adding the 1/2 gal of top off water?

I definitely don't have the math skills for that one!

Thanks! :mug:

(0.5/4.7)*100=10.63%

I'd say you've reduced the OG by 10.63%

64*10.63%=6.8
1064-6.8=1057.2

It won't be exactly that because I think the calculation is a bit more complex
I've had to hard a day to think about it.
