Was YouTube surfing last night, SWMBO comes in and starts saying that homebrew and beer is becoming an obsession. Found a home wine making video, she actually started to pay attention. I have a 2 bucket system and am willing to sacrifice one to her wishes. Now she's looking a plum wine recipe (we have plum, lemon, fig, orange and mandarin trees in the back yard)

Start with something like Skeeter Pee. It's relatively easy and gives you the basic concept of wine making. It is also directly responsible for the only time I have seen my mother-in-law drunk. Fruit wines do well if brewed seasonally, because the amount of fruit for five gallons can be pricey. And start saving wine bottles now.

Make an orange wine once. After tasting it at bottling I made a label for it. There was an orange and a rocket on the label. I produced orange rocket fuel. I ended up mixing a lot of it with juice drinks.

Not off topic--there are winemaking and wine recipe boards here too. :)
