Important fact #1 - I brew inside, on my gas stove.

Important fact #2 - I have (as yet, knock wood) had no boil-overs.

Regardless of fact #2, the heat off the bottom of my large kettles causes whatever minimal amounts of invisible "gunk" are on my stove surface to burn and become nice, brown stains. On occasion I have been able to remove these with Lysol spray, but mostly they are just there. Does anyone have any heavier-duty suggestions?

My stove surface appears to be enameled/painted metal.

Thanks in advance,

BLM

Oven cleaner saved my marriage:D

Spray it on, let it sit 20 min or so, and wipe away. Viola! Clean stove top.

try a Mr Clean magic eraser

This has worked for me every time...even for full boilovers. I buy the generic brands from whatever big box store Ihappen to be in...Even mounted 2 on a dollarstore mop...does wonders on floors.
