Finally decided to ditch my 7 cf 4 tap Keezer (actually returned to freezer duty) and convert my 8.8 cf Magic Chef freezer. it fits 5x5gal on the floor and 2x3 gal on the hump. 7 taps. CO2 and Nitro gas. used a 2x4 to make the collar and coated with spar varnish. Truck camper seal tape from Lowes/Home depot on both the chest and the underside of the collar, a little smear of petroleum jelly to keep them from sticking and easier collar lifting. Attached the collar to the hinges and the lid just sits on top with gravity. I can pull the lid and manage stuff without lifting the collar. Digital controller with the probe in a water bottle with green anti-freeze mix.

I like it. I have 9 taps in the garage, 3 in a 7cf keezer, and 6 in a 20cf keezer. The 20 footer will hold 12 five gal kegs on the floor and 3 minis on the hump, but I keep 1 liter bottles on the hump

I like the hinged collar idea. May have to retrofit mine.

My last one was the same...it's nice being able to lift all the taps and lines up and away so I can drop kegs it with ease.
