How does that manifold design work for you? What's the purpose of those 9" capped sections? They seem like wasted space because if you tip the cooler in an attempt to drain more liquid, half of the manifold is lower than your only connection to the bulkhead.

@unviewtiful The 9" returns provide more area to let sweet wort drain. I don't tip the mash tun, the design of the manifold leaves maybe 2 oz of liquid in the cooler. This has been a very efficient design.
