So, I bought THIS contactor for my 50a panel upgrade in order to control the main power button. I didn't realize, though, that it's a 3 pole contactor. Is it OK if I just use two poles instead of all 3?

Also, in general, what kind of terminals are people using to connect the wires to the male tabs on the contactor and coils? I can't believe female disconnects would be safe enough.

Anywway, here's what I've got. I'm planning to get the terminals tomorrow and wire it up over the next few days.

Yes, it's ok to use that contactor. You don't have to use all of the contacts on the contactor. My suggestion would be to use the screw down terminals on the contactor instead of the blade connectors.
