5000ml Grolsch bottle

I recently saw a 5L Grolsch swing top bottle in a store. It was empty and used for a display. The shop-keeper refused to give it to me despite my begging. He said it had to go back to Grolsch.
Has anyone used these for bottling or seen them ? Im concerned that they may not be suitable.
