50 gms of hallertau herzberg hops

Hi fellow brewers
Are 50gms of hallertau herzberg hops (pellets)enough to brew final 8 litres of beer?

Depending on the OG and the AA of the hops,(my last Hallertau was 4.4%). I would do 14g at 60 min , and split the rest between 15 min and flameout.

What @hottpeper13 said above it looks like if I use all 50 gms that would become extremely bitter over hopped beer.

Not if you chilled to 170 at flameout.

"Should be enough" doesn't mean you have to use all 50 grams. My last batch of 12 liters used 14 grams of magnum and 21 grams of hersbrucker and turned out good.

Unknown parameters which might affect your answer, there may be others...

Beer style
Boil volumes
Boil length
Gravity
Chilling method or lack thereof
Use of hop bag, cage/basket, or free

How much you used for bittering and how much as finishing hops for aromas?

@BrewingWisdom a target style or commercial example you’re emulating will help answer your questions.

The longer the hops boil, the more bitter and less flavorful/aromatic they get. With 50g in 7L you can achieve quite a range of different tasting beers.
