Just wonder if anyone has a good 5 gallon all grain recipe for a vanilla porter.I recently tried Leinenkugel's Snowdrift Vanilla porter and really like it.Would love to try a good recipe if anyone can help,ty in advance..cheers.

Here's a basic 5 gal recipe:

OG ~1.069 (based on 70% brew house efficiency)
FG ~1.014
ABV ~7.2%
IBU ~37
SRM ~39

10 lb 2-row (74%)
1.5 lb Light Munich (11%)
1 lb Crystal 60 (7%)
0.5 lb Roasted Barley (4%)
0.5 lb Chocolate (4%)

Mash 60 minutes at 155F
Boil 60 minutes

1.1oz Northern Brewer @60min
0.5oz Northern Brewer @15min

US-05 yeast.
Ferment at 64F

You can use 2-5 vanilla beans depending on how much vanilla flavor you want.
On brew day, take some scissors, cut the beans into very small pieces and place in a jar with a lid. Cover the beans with vodka, bourbon, or the spirit of your choice. Use just enough to cover the beans. Leave it sit in a warm, dark spot, or put in on a stir plate with a gentle rotation for a couple days.

Toward the end of primary fermentation, pour it (the bean pieces and the spirit) into the fermenter and leave it for another 5-7 days before packaging.

Cheers
