I have 5.25 gallons sitting in primary that has been there for a week and a half. I wanted to free up my primary for another batch, but wanted to let this beer sit for 3 weeks (at least). I tried looking it up... but only found a couple posts on the interwebz about fitting this much beer in a 5 gallon glass carboy. It looks like you can get 5.5 gallons in it up to the bottom of the neck of the bottle. Any confirmation on that? I was thinking that if it will fit and the beer has hit it's FG, this should be fine. I would also expect that stirring the beer up a bit from racking could cause a little bit more fermentation, but shouldn't be enough to cause krauzen. Is this a bad idea?
