Hi ppl at HBT,

I made my 4th HB on saturday and I took a picture of it after pitching the yeast. I wanted to know why it looked like that if anybody knew.

yesterday, it looked like a regular fermenting HB, but it made me wonder for the first photo

Hmmmm...is that fuzzy white stuff around the top of the beer in your second picture? Otherwise, I think you're fine. Maybe some more pictures?

Unfortunately I do not have more pics. The first pic is about 5 mins after pitching the yeast and also this is the first time i use irish moss (?).
The second pic is 12h later.

I am pretty sure it will turn out ok, but I wondered why it had that look at the beginning

Lighting and poor pics can make it hard to tell what is happening in the second pic but I say hop trub, krausen, and general goodness.

Is it maybe the first time you've used Irish Moss/Whirfloc? That'll lead to some funky looking stuff in the carboy immediately after transfer.

It's funny how it turns out, but I think I deelopped my first infection. Any thoughts?

Doesn't look like infection to me. Just looks like the krausen has finished and is dropping back into the beer. This is why I brew in opaque plastic ;)

Yeah like everyone else said its fine. Besides I dont think you would see an infection in the first 24 hours.

Definitely infected...

With yeast!!! Run for monostat 7!!!!!

What style beer (IPA)? Looks like hop trub in the bottom to me which is what it's suppose to do. The yeast on top looks fine to me.
