Hi all- first time poster here. I recently started brewing and reflected on the experience with friends of mine who also brew. Most of us feel that it's very difficult for someone that knows nothing about brewing to get started. In particular, existing beginner kits are too expensive and it's kind of unclear what you're getting when you buy one.

I'm interested in starting a small business that sells a $49 beginner kit with all the essentials: basically a large fermenting vessel, tap, valve, bottles and caps, thermometer and ingredients for a 1 gallon brew (versus the standard 5 gallon).

The idea here is to come underneath (price-wise) of many of the other beginner kits that get sold for $80+

Do other folks think this product (if well branded) would sell? Any and all thoughts welcome.

I think you will do fine if you can market it. Northern Brewer, Brooklyn Brewhouse, and a few others sell their one-gallon kits at that price without bottles, so you'll be taking a hit there.
