So...uh...
Last night I brewed batch #13.
Two new pieces of equipment caused me to miss my final volume by + 1/2 gallon. My fermenter is a 5 gallon bucket, and I was targeting a 4G batch.
In hindsight I should have held back on putting some of the wort into the fermenter, but I didn't. By the time I pitched the 1L yeast starter, there was only about 1.5 inches of headroom in the bucket.
Is this going to create the mess I think it will? I have been getting very active fermentation with tons of krausen since I started using starters. Nothing much so far this AM...should I try to re rack to a bigger fermenter? Dump some of the wort? Pray?
Thanks guys.
