Those of you that use 3 gallon kegs - are you pretty happy with them? Do the hold up as well in use when compared to 5 gallon kegs?

I'm considering going with 3 gallon kegs vs 5 for a few reasons:

1, I don't have to modify my beer fridge
2, I can take one and leave one from a 5 gal batch
3, I can experiment with different varities/amounts of dry hops in each keg
4, I can compare the same beer side by side with different levels of carbonation

Any downsides to 3 gal kegs?

Thx

Yeah, that's the only downside. I have 3 and I love them, but I got them cheap off craigslist.

I paid $50 each for two of mine, and got one for free. BUT that's not usual- they usually cost significantly more. If price wasn't an issue, I'd buy lots of 3 gallon kegs. I only like the 5 gallon kegs for my full sized fridge kegerator, since they don't stack and I can fit five in there. For my dorm fridge, I love the 3 gallon kegs!

The only real draw back I have is price as well. That and that they take up the same size foot print as a 5 gallon keg in my keezer. They work great for a mobile keg setup.
