Not sure if I can but I started brewing at midday.
If I feel like it after I start the boil on the first I may keep going.

Hob Goblin first, then maybe a Boddington's and then a Old speckled hen.

Not off to a good start though. I came to get my scales and found SWMBO borrowed them for work and hadn't returned them. I've just rerturned from town with a new set. (Not happy)

I'm into my first mash now.

I wonder if I have enough gas?

I am sure you can do it Orfy... Just remember, you want quality.. not quantity. ;) :mug:

I am sure you dont want 3 batches of bud light....... right?:p

No chance of that.

I don't know when I can brew again and last summer it got too hot.
Plus I just bought another 4 cornies and my 3rd fermenter.

Well it's peeing it down, I'm brewing under a brolly!

Rolling boil on first, waiting for mash water on second.
I'm out of northern brewer hops any suggestions for a replacement? I'm just looking now.

Edit, I've found recipes using Whitbread and stating progress as a a replacement so progress it is.

More like a fool!

I'm just doing a few calcs and I think I may push 90% effic!

Only problem is I ran off 32L instead of 29L to see what I could get out so I may have to go to a longer boil to hit the boil off I need. My last 3l runnings where still at 1012. :)

Not good to experiment if you don't have the time.

My first gas ran out so I'm on a butane back up which seems to be lower pressure. It's gonna take a while. I may have to go borrow my Dad's BBQ gas.

Second Mash is on and I'm adding Flavouring hops to the Goblin.

Ummmm... whats she selling?

Just borrowed my dad's gas, it's LPG but also on a low pressure reg.
I can get 4 maybe 5 brews from a 13kg propane bottle on a high pressure reg.
The first one was my 6th from this bottle (My back up) so I knew I was pushing it but I also know I had a third bottle of 7kg butane.
I'm now cooling my first brew and the seconds waiting to be drained once the kettle is empty.

I've decided to do 1x5g Hobgoblin and 2x5g Old Speckled hen.
Mainly due to the fact I've run out of Chocolate malt.

It's still pissing it down.

Well things have been delayed.

I got a call from a friend who asked if I wanted to go to the pub. I told her I was busy but she wouldn't take no for an answer. So I had to go out for a few beers. (Real ale) of course!
So I'm still on No2 in the kettle and I'm struggling with butane on a low pressure reg. I've just switched to propane on a low pressure reg. That may help.

I think I'll start the mash on number 3 shortly.

I'm getting damp now but I've got No.3 on the boil and I'm starting the clean up.

Not Bad 3 full all grain brews, 3 trips out (2 emergency runs and 2 pints in the pub)

9 hours in total I reckon.

If I didn't have to go out a could shave maybe 1.5 to 2 hours off it.

Orfy, you are a GOD among brewers. 3 batches and you had time to go the the pub..... you ROCK!!

I'm cream crackered!

Low pressure regs suck. I want to go to bed but I'm waiting for a boil. It's dark and I can see how it's doing. Yes it's been raining all afternoon. It started 5 minutes before my first boil so I'm brewing under a garden Umbrella.
I managed 45 minutes in the pub, a welcome break. No chance of a boil over on the rig at the monent.

Well, is it worth the effort? It doesn't feel like it but for 120 pints in a session then I guess it is.
The only Question is should I use the rest of my 10kg of grain in a couple of weeks and do another 80 pints?

hehe, reading Orfy's post, I can't help but think of The Daily Show's coverage of the Queen's visit. They were making fun of some ****** on MSNBC who is british and played up his britishness into this absurd caricature. So TDS's John Oliver, who is also British, came on and was very serious about it...and so Jon Stewart forced him to get all caricaturey. Hilarious.

Cream crackered. f'ing brilliant, I say!

Well it's fun 2 see No1 brew has started fermenting before I've finished No3.
No 2 has started whirling around with little mini jelly fish like lumps of yeast floating up and down.

No 3 has yet to have it's last hop addition and be cooled.

Some say I'm a nutter!
I think I agree sometimes.
I sometimes work hard instead of smart.

I have a hard couple of weeks at work coming up so no real RandR. This was my last chance.

All three are done!

It was a hard day due to a few things and no planning. I did my usuall of deciding to brew 10 minutes before I did.

Going to the pub halfway through made it interesting.

The worst thing was having to brew with a low pressure reg. The best thing was having plenty of hot water from my chiller to use to get my HLT up to temp quickly. I also used some wort to start my yeast. Not having to clean and put the gear away between brews made a big difference. Making a large batch of sanitiser up at the beginning of the session meant I just had to keep re dipping items during the day.

I also managed to do 2 loads of laundry to keep SWMBO happy. I must admit I didn't walk the dogs today though. But I did weed some of the allotment this morning and mow the lawn.

I don't think I'd do it again in a hurry. 2 brew definitely and save the pub until I've finished!:mug:
