I think that is a Golden Gate style keg. I've got a Hoff Stevens and it looks different. Wish I had a use for it.

You should post it on one of the Hot Rod sites. They use those for gas tanks on the old school hot rods.

It's not a firkin. A firkin is a 9 imperial gallon (40.9 L) cask.

The hole in the bottom is in the wrong place for it to be a firkin or a pin. I really think it's a Golden Gate keg personally.
