This is exactly what I like about the Brulosophers exbeeriments, quite often they show statistical insignificance of time honored tradition. I often come away with a feeling of it doesn't really matter, and not so much either is better. What I really like is quite often, the easier approach does not show negative results, at least that's my misinterpretation :)

That does seem to be the general trend. Although I think that a lot of it has to do with his process being so dialed-in that a single variable doesn't really affect much. I have often wondered what the results would be if he combined two or more of his variables (for example, fermented warm AND underpitched versus proper pitch and fermentation temperature). Obviously it would be impossible to isolate which variable had which effects (if any), but I think it would probably show bigger differences between finished beers. That might give some insight as to exactly how many shortcuts we can take without affecting the finished beer.
 
Sorry, just my opinion and experience that trying to filter pre ferment on a homebrew scale is not worth the effort.

Got to agree with @wilserbrewer on this statement, I tried to filter one batch and it made a huge mess. It just wasn't worth the effort. The trub will settle out.
