Would a 15 gallon batch be too small to just ferment in w/ a 27 gallon conical? Got a new setup together finally w 50 gallon blichmans and a electric brewery bcs 462 setup. For the time being we are just planning on doing a few small batches to get our recipes down and likely just throw into a few carboys in a fermentation chamber and then bottle. Then probably just fermenter to bottle until we get a keg process setup.
2. Should batch sizes typically be 20 gallons or can we go a bit bigger with a blow off tube (not sure how much head space will be needed w the bigger batches)?
ANY recommendation/tips would be greatly appreciated (typical fermentation time for ales etc)
Thanks!
John
