If traveling to Santa Cruz this week, pack some patience.
Caltrans will be making emergency pavement repairs Monday through Thursday that will close the southbound slow lane from as early as 7:30 a.m. until around 2 p.m. between Summit Road and Vine Hill Road.

Glad I clicked on this thread, working down there thu-sun and this would have ****** me pretty bad driving in Thursday if I didn't.

Edit: Humble Sea, Corralitos, or any other breweries in the area worth stopping into?

Humble Sea, Shanty Shack, Corralitos and Elkhorn Slough (from North to South) all qualify as "worth stopping into" in my opinion. Not saying your experience will be mind blowing and they are all a bit inconsistent but they usually will have something decent. Lupulo and Aptos St./Mission St. BBQ are also options but not breweries.

I saw Adair offer to replace another broken one in the Facebook group a few weeks back, so I'm sure she'd help out if you mentioned it there!

Ya, Adair offered to replace mine in the FB group. Other people had theirs break too, per comments. Took it in and they replaced it. Pretty sure it'll break again tho based on how many others have .

I finally have a cool opener and now I cant use it for fear of breaking it.

I'm just going to throw in some epoxy, add the screw in, let it set and call it a day.

It wasn't the greatest design to use a machine screw meant for metal into a soft piece of wood.

I have calculated the forces leveraged on the machine screw when opening a bottle and it does not meet shitlord standards. The forces multiply by a factor of 42 when trying to open a waxed bottle.

I'm confused about the comment about the name "Saison Bernice" being a result of the breakup, didn't Bernice way predate that?
