Sorry if this has been brought up, not reading all of this on my phone, but is anyone having/going to a bottle share, and if so, would you be interested in a few more people? I may stop by the one I went to last year with 70 people, but wondering if anyone else will be hanging out.

I'm looking for one. Buddy and I might just get some food and share a few bottles at the hotel, and take the rest to drink it line maybe?

Is 3F usually open the Friday night before for food and what not or are they closed? I love their food.

How much do bottles of Darklord go for at DLD? I ask because my boss gave me a bottle last year, and while it was a great beer, it wasn't $32 great.

$20 for the regular Dark Lord beer last year.
$50 for the special variations last year.

Now, there is no singular price since it's a package deal.

The past 2 years I've gone the brewpub has been open the night before.

There's a large, "invite only" one by the bus depot right by the venue. that's where I was last year but the guys I went with aren't going this year. I may try to stop by anyway.

I will be at the holiday inn in schererville Friday and Saturday nights. Will bring the best stuff I have on hand. Might cab it over to another hotel where I know a few people. It's going to be a great time!

No brawling in line ... I'm out!

I'm an extreme capitalist, everything is worth what you can get for it, period. Good for 3 Floyd's and other vendors. As for me if I lived 10 miles away and it were convenient and $5 I might try it, but for the price, crowds, and scene as described (death metal meh) I wouldn't walk across the street for it.

The music acts have never been much more than background noise for me. They had Big Freedia on the "F U Indiana" stage last year, maybe that's more your scene? ;)

If you plan on bringing more than 24 bottles, leave a pile in the backseat of one of the squad cars. I will make sure it finds a safe home.

In my backpack so far to drink/share there, I have:

1 Heady topper
1 Sip of Sunshine
1 Second Fiddle
1 Lawsons Super session #2
4 pack of Fat heads hop juju
1 Jackie o's oil of aphrodite
1 Willoughby Nutsmasher

I may die.

Planning on stopping at a liquor store and getting some Indiana locals for Friday night at the hotel, unless we can get tickets to 18th streets barrel aged fest.

The key is to pace yourself. If you go in with all guns blazing, pounding 8%+ beers, you'll be done in an hour. I'm taking less beer this year, and including some lower abv selections. Last year we started by killing a bomber of Bolt Cutter while standing in line. Not good.

Thinking I'll bring a 2009-current Dark Lord vertical. Not sure yet though.

Hope you really like the taste of soy sauce...

Last year at Dark Lord a booth was selling cups of 2011 Dark Lord. Ugh. Like a giant ol' cup of Kikkoman. Couldn't get through 4 ounces of that stuff.

I'll admit to not being a Dark Lord fan. I've had 3 different versions. Too sweet for my taste. I'll probably trade all but 1 bottle I get this year.

I go for the bottle sharing and the Zombie Dust, Rabid Rabbit, and Arctic Panzer Wolf I can pickup locally.

That seems to vary bottle to bottle. I've had bottles of 2012 that were straight soy and others that have been tasty. Both from my own collection that have been stored identically.

That said, part of planning to bring a big vertical is to reduce the volume in my cellar. The more aged beer I've drank from my stash, the less I want to store anything beyond a year or so. Sure, some have been great with some age, but the losers seem to outnumber the winners pretty easily.

If you're really lucky I'll bring that bottle of triple bock I've had for years...

If anyone wants to meet up on friday lmk headed down that day hotel check in is at three in hammond. Pretty sure I am open after that.

In the years past I've always driven down the morning of and driven back that night (I would stop drinking 3+ hours before heading home) I'm thinking this year it might be best to stay the night somewhere down there, but of course the hotels are booked. Thinking about just bringing a tent or something for the night. Any thoughts?
