Last Cascade plant in my yard with cones on them still. Willamettes (so small!), and Centennials are all picked.
Did you train your bine to grow at a 90 degree angle or is this solely for harvesting?

I have a couple growing in pots and they sent roots through the drainage hole into the earth below them.
I agree, that may be a little short. It may be OK for first year plants but what I would do is set the plants 10 +/- feet away from it and run coir to the top. you may need to stake it down, not sure how windy it gets by you.
