Similar to my setup, but on better equipment and from the looks of it, your element housing is a lot cleaner than mine! Haha! Any reason you went with an anode instead of the newer SS elements? Especially because that requires another hole in the pot.

I bought the kettle exactly like this. I was building a Kal Clone (still will be if this doesn’t sell) and found this in Georgia for a good deal and bought it and had my uncle pick it up then I drove down for spring break and picked it up. The previous guy wanted to down size so he tried to fill one hole and move the element lower to brew smaller batches and it didn’t work. I filled the second hole after taking the element out for my own brew in a bag setup to put the kettle to use instead of it collecting dust

The element really needs a good firing and scrub for sure. But I don’t have a panel to do so
