This recipe was born out of my want to try Midnight Wheat. I saw many recipes online, and wanted to see if anyone with experience with Robust Porters could steer me in the right direction.

Partial Mash - 5 gallon batch - Mash at 152 - 60 min. boil

3 lbs. Extra Light DME
2 lbs. Munich
2 lbs. 2-row
1 lb. Midnight Wheat
1 lb. Flaked Barley
.75 lb. Chocolate Malt

1 oz. Northern Brewer @ FWH
1 oz. Northern Brewer @ 20

S-05 Yeast

I've never tried Midnight Wheat. My porter recipe has similar amounts of flaked barley and chocolate malt; also 1.5 lbs crystal malts and a smidge of roasted barley.

Let us know how it turns out!

Midnight wheat does not have a strong flavor- it's used mostly for color and is popular for beers where a lot of roastiness is not desired like Black IPA. Your recipe looks reasonable- this is a partial mash, right?

Yep, partial mash.

I like my stouts thick, but I like my porters a little on the thinner side. That's why I didn't add any crystal malt.
