1st brew ever

Hello all ! Iam currently on my first brew ever! Irish Red Ale from Midwest Supplies (extract) . I busted my fermenting bucket's lid up so im going to order a second glass carboy and do my 2nd fermentation in there . Im on day 2 and im seeing very active and hungry yeast! im super excited but know i have a little wait ahead of me!
heres some pics of day 1 and then 2 of day 2.im sure ill have plenty of questions for yous to answer!.

Looks like you have it in a 5 gal carboy? Did you have any problems with overflow or blowoff?

no actually i didn't even realize that was a 5 gallon till i looked at my inventory list. The Recipe seemed to only call for a total of 5 gallons of water , so it looks like i have 4.5 in the carboy. can i Add water during 2nd fermentation or is that a no no ?

You can add water at that point, but I wouldn't. Your beer will be just a tad bit stronger, that's all.

Looks good. I use Midwest for most of my batches. If you are going to get another carboy, I'd get a 6.5 gal and use it for the primary. That way you can do full 5 gal batches with a blowoff tube and not loose too much. Also, I wouldn't add any water, you'll just have a little stronger beer this way.
