I have a plastic and a glass primary fermenter which is best for first batch? Also is a aluminum pot ok for boiling or do I need to buy stainless for my first batch.

They are both fine. If you will have enough head space in the glass, use that, as it it's your first brew, you will want to see it. I use an aluminum pot, and it works fine, just make sure you build up oxygen barrier, by boiling water in it for an hour, or putting in a 350° oven for 10 minutes, the former being my choice.
