I'm doing a partial Mash Barleywine on Monday and I'm going to start it on the Trub leftover from the Caramel Creme in my primary. Even though my Barleywine recipe calls for a White Labs California Ale Yeast and I used a German Ale yeast for the Caramel Creme.
Any problems with this? I figure the benefit of starting the BarleyWine on the Yeast Cake will outweigh any gain I might get from pitching the California Ale. Since this is only my 4th beer I'm looking for some words of wisdom
And yes, I totally plan to use a blowoff tube after reading through the other posts!
