After a long day of testing out the new equipment it's time to have a few beers and hope to h##$ every thing goes alright tomorrow. Couple things I could use a pointer on.
1. Three thermometers, POS that came with the fryer, floating and digital with probe. Test boil showed the digital at 230, floater and POS were pretty close to 212. Get a new digital or figure out how to use what I've got for the mash? Any suggestions on brand/type of digital?
2. Gravity feeding to the CFC I made last week. Test run was ok but anyone doing this that has any feedback please comment.
3. Turkey baster (sanitized of course) ok to use as a beer thief?
4. Aluminum pot only greyed or oxidized in a couple places during test boil. I let it go for close to an hour, anything to worry about here?
I think that covers it, I know tomorrow will be chaos, but I'll keep my fingers crossed that I get through it and have drinkable beer in the end.
Thanks for all the info everyone, this place is awesome!
I may be naive but I make up for that with inexperience!!:rockin:
