It has been 18 hours no sign of fermentation. Should I pitch it again it must have been yeast that was no good right?

Nope. Leave it for 3-4 days before doing anything.

Fermentation can take up to 72 hours depending in yeast, aeration, temperature

Also, if using a bucket you could have a bad seal and the airlock doesn't bubble because the gasses escape elsewhere.

Give it some time, check your lid and report back with more details if nothing is happening after 72 hours:)

You are probably fine, it is way too early to consider repitching. Check out the sticky on this forum, but the bottom line is that it can take up to 72 hours for your beer to show active signs of fermentation.

Out of curiosity did you use a liquid yeast or dry? What was the SG? Stir plate for the liquid yeast? As you can see there is a multitude of factors that affect yeast and what it needs to do. As the others have said, give it time. If the airlock is all your looking at you may be missing so many other pieces of the puzzle.

Sounds like you underpitched. Leave it, it will eventually take off. The resulting beer will have off-flavoursl Next time, pitch a generous amount of healthy, liquid yeast and you'll have a faster fermentation take-off, and fewer off-flavours in the resulting beer.
