Where the heck does everyone get their bottles? Im looking to bottle up 10 gallons and am having a hard time finding anything cheaper than $1.20 per bottle. lookin for the decanter 16 oz'ers with 38/400 cap

I got all my bottles from friends. I got some pretty cool bottles. One guy dropped off 11 milk crates of grolsh bottles. It got to the point where I had to turn them away. There's a thread on here that you can ask for bottles. I can't really help with looking for new bottles. I'd probably buy beer I like just to get the bottles before I'd buy empty ones. cheers.

You could ask around at brew pubs, bars and restaurants for their empties.

I've been reusing my GT's bottles but I also have a couple cases of EZ Cap swing tops. You don't have to use glass, plastic 20oz soda bottles will work fine if that's what you can get. Soda can be more acidic than kombucha, so the bottles can handle it.

I have been collecting bottles for a while. Make sure you check out the free bottle section of the forum. I also gave out cases to members. You can find 22oz bombers and 12oz bottles on Craigslist, bars and I had resorted to dumpster diving when I first started..lol

Now I use swingtops for beer meads and wine and will also use them for Kombucha.

or you could buy some grolsch from your liquor store and reuse the bottles. they are 2.00 apiece here but you get to enjoy the beer also

Dang! I can barely buy a 12oz craft beer for 2 bucks!

EDIT: I just checked my local bevmo and a 4 pack of swingtop Grolsch is $8.49 I didn't realize it was that cheap! I actually can't remember the last time I tried a Grolsch. I may have to go try a 4 pack!

i ended up going with filmore container. Bought 6 cases (72 bottles) shipped for 72 dollars

Hello! Could you share where you are finding clear bottles for $1.20? The cheapest I've found so far that I like are $1.57, so that may help!

I'm becoming a bottle whore lol. I drank a dozen retail kombuchas so I could use those but I have many full cases of German swingtops too for beer. I didn't want to mix them lol

This is quite a sickness lol

Lol indeed it is. I've got 3 cases of EZ-caps, and 2+ cases of GTs kombucha bottles. I have to tell myself I don't need anymore right now! I've resorted to filling 2L soda bottles and tonight I'm filling glass gallon jugs. The fridge is packed and I have bottles sitting in cases on the floor that won't fit in the fridge.
I'm going to have to halt production for a while. Even tried giving it away on Facebook.
Maybe I need just one more case of bottles...

Apparently jars as well!

Went to my mother in laws tonight for the traditional Sauerkraut pork and black eyed peas New Years dish (yummy!) and there they were... 3 quart size already cleaned sauerkraut jars. I HAD to take them out of the trash.... I wonder what I could use them for...

Small KT batches.... Yeast washing.. Specialty grains......

They definitely have a good assortment of bottles and jars. Cool site. I sometime wish a had smaller 8oz mini beer type bottles for like wine and cider so there's some options.

More options: http://www.specialtybottle.com/

I've bought a bunch of amber boston rounds, for making and gifting vanilla extract, from these guys.
When buying bottles online, you need to shop around before making a decision. Some sites will charge less per bottle, but then charge you extra small orders (orders less than a whole case). Some sites won't let you order less than a case. Make sure to read the fine print.
