These are nice and are easy to clean.

However, the lid is a bear to remove. Use a tool to remove instead of just one's hand. Too much force will collapse the plastic. Might lead to a crack and a 5 gallon, or more, spill.

I'm also not positive lid seals 100%. Used gasket and I've used a bit of keg lube trying to get a good seal.

I also have the one shown in the original post. With the spigot. This is now my "bottling bucket" when I bottle.

I also found out that there is a V2 of the lid and oring combo. They work much better than the previous ones and they work on the old Fermonsters as well, i just bought new lid and oring and did not have to replace the fermonster. available at MB.

I have 8 Fermonsters, all ported, at least one of each size.

Found this videos that explain what changed on the lid(took them from TVS website) , they are still red, but mine has a lip on the inside to better hold the bung (briefly shown on the videos).


but what i noticed the most is the oring seals and installs easier (on the ones i just got).

my new lid came today, i have attached a picture. the difference is the full lip inside the lid. Looks stronger and the oring fits and stays in place better than the previous one.
