Hi,

I need to purchase a 13/16" Greenlee hole punch for installing ball valves in SS pots, such as in the example at theelectricbrewery.com (though, this example is for the heating element install at 1.25")

Does anyone know if you can use the 13/16" Greenlee hole punch (20.6 mm) to install 22mm switches and lights, such as the Auber SW1?

http://www.auberins.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=223

The SW1 info says it requires a 22.5mm hole, but I thought the 13/16"(20.6mm) might work if you screw the switch into the hole and kind of force it a little. I'd love to save money on that and make really nice holes in the panel.

How many holes did you make with one punch? (just want to gauge how many it can do before getting dull)

I plan on using them for 1mm thick stainless steel. Were your pots comparable?

The steel enclosure was comparable to your pot, probably thicker. I probably punched at least a dozen holes and I don't see any sign of dulling. Even though they are cheap, they seem to be good enough for at least 'dozens' of holes.

Good to know. looks like that would work well for at least the 22mm switches/lights. i'll need something else for the ball valves. I assume you used hole saws to cut the receptacle holes?
