so, you started with a three gallon boil, and then divide it out into separate batches?

Ended up brewing a total of 3 gallons of "jalapeno cream ale" recipe from this site and put into three one gallon carboys. Going to kick up the spice in one of the gallons with Serrano peppers when I move to secondary. Testing habanero in the third. It may be too much, but it's only a gallon.
Overall, I see myself doing a lot more of these one gallon batches, especially for the more intensely flavored beers. I'm glad this thread is here.
Cheers...

Got a pair of 10 oz pilsner glasses at Kohls today for 5 bucks after a coupon. They're nice and dishwasher safe
Hmm, yummy? That's really not enough IBU to be considered an English mild. Not sure what that would be.
Was at Sams' for something else today, the syrup is like 13.86 for the 32 oz container. How much did all the syrup cost you? I was taking about something similar the other at work but it seemed like it would be pretty expensive. Only doing a gallon gives you the option to do stuff like that so maybe I will try it eventually

Happy New Year 1 Gallon Brewers. I haven't been around since Iowa is actually having a Winter, I've been ice fishing. Nothing like a homebrew while you're out on a frozen lake. Keep on brewing....
Came up pretty short on my pre boil gravity, confused why but I'll get it to a boil remeasure and decide on dme or not.

it is thirded here ice fishing indeed rocks, none for me this year.. havent got a freeze thats stuck. Dont the fish taste much cleaner throught the ice???
Let me guess dont follow cheeses water amounts. ....thats what you learned sorry for the mixup on that recipe. You will have to brew it again but not following my directionsHappy New Year to all my one-gallon friends!
I want to thank those of y'all who helped me with all the advice on my first brew (the Andes Mint Stout). Even though I didn't hit my expected SG (ended up with 1.036 which finished at 1.010) and I definetly identified a few issues in my process to be fine-tuned next time, I count the whole experience as a huge success.

So I brewed up a 1 gallon barleywine about a month and a half ago, everything went great and the hydro sample was fantastic![]()
When I went to move to secondary, I pumped my auto siphon and didn't realize the siphon tube came out of the jug!
I wanted to secondary it for 6 months and bottle for 6 months. Is this too much headspace for extended secondary? Should I just bottle for a year?

Fish does taste better through the ice...I need to take some pictures of ice fishing and my home brews. Mmmm...fish and home brew...

Im not sure if it was my Barleywine what I would do as I havent had the patience yet to try one. Anyone else have thoughts on it?
