Does anyone have experience with really small batches like 1 gallon? If so, what techniques and materials did you use and how did it turn out? I just absolutely cannot store or drink or give away 5 gallons of beer at a time, and when they turn out bad (like my first batch), you've essentially waited a month or two for crap. Also, the smaller batch size would help me test out some of my wackier ideas for beer.

Penny for your thoughts?

Thanks! I saw the first thread, but not the other two.

So, I guess there aren't many problems besides hops-measuring problems.

Moreover, I found an AWESOME website for fermenting buckets. It's IndustrialPlasticBuckets.com and they have all sizes of buckets, and they come in black, so that would help keep light from seeping through. They also have a ton of different style lids and strainers like this one which would be good for getting the trub out.
