We are an up-and-coming nano-brewery, and have recently acquired a larger brewhouse more suited for our needs. This leaves us with a smaller, 1.5 BBL brewhouse which we no longer need. The brewhouse is in an “almost complete” state, and has not yet been used. This was intentional to allow optimization of site-specific components; specifically hoses, fittings, and piping.
Stand:
The stand is 3/16” x 2” welded steel angle and includes support for an HLT, MLT, and kettle. The HLT and kettle are direct fired with 32-tip, adjustable-height gas burners. The support for the MLT is hinged to allow easy dumping of spent grains. The stand is painted with High Temperature Krylon (gray).
HLT, MLT, and Kettle:
Three 55-gallon stainless steel drums are used for the HLT, MLT, and kettle. Also included is a fourth 55-gallon SS drum, which can be used as a backup in the event any of the original three are damaged or for extra capacity. Included with the MLT is a stainless steel false bottom. Also included are all the fittings needed to connect the brewery components together, consisting of stainless steel bulkheads, quick-disconnect Camlock fittings, medical grade silicone tubing, and various other stainless fittings.
Pump:
We are including a pump with the brewhouse, which features three peristaltic pump heads driven by an electric motor. The pump includes a clutch feature to allow the drive belt to be moved to two different sizes of pulleys, allowing the speed of the pump to be adjusted to suit different tasks. The three pump heads are accessed via a six-port panel, and can be used to transfer three different sources simultaneously, or can be combined to transfer a single source in parallel at a higher capacity. At the highest speed, using all three pump heads in parallel for a single source, the pump is capable of roughly 7 gallons per minute.
HERMS:
This aspect was a work in progress. The original plan was to incorporate coils, tubing, and a temperature controller with a hot water heater. We purchased the new system prior to completing the plan, and essentially we have only the hot water heater, and the aforementioned pump.
