What to do with my kegerator now that I'm off alcohol

Thanks for the help guys. I went on vacation to south america and put this off a bit. I put the apple juice in the first keg and it carbonated fine and is actually a bigger hit with my various guests than the beer was. It is indeed foaming way too much when I pour it though. I'm going to go...

What to do with my kegerator now that I'm off alcohol

So I've had to cut back my alcohol consumption for health reasons and I'll no longer be drinking enough beer to warrant the two 5 gallon kegs for my kegerator. I was about to list it when I realized I might have another use for it. My wife drinks Martinelli bottles like water and I don't mind...

    Sweet Gale or Bog Myrtle?

Found it here: http://www.bogmyrtle.com/ Ordered 4 ounces for 8 dollars. Only need an ounce or two per recipe so I should be good. :) EBay seems to be the place for other herbs.

    Sweet Gale or Bog Myrtle?

I bought a Kindle book on ancient beers and I'm wanting to make a Gruit. I can't find the biggest ingredient though, Sweet Gale or Bog Myrtle. Does anyone know where I can get this? There are also some other herbs that are hard to get too. Thanks

Dry Hopping Dark Ale With Saaz?

Nice. Thanks for the advice! I'll do it.

    Bitter Porter

I still don't have an answer of what I brewed but time made it an awesome brew. Was just strange for me that it was bad right out of the fermenter when all other beers I've brewed were good as a flat beer before carbonation.

Dry Hopping Dark Ale With Saaz?

So I'm brewing this dark ale: http://www.austinhomebrew.com/AHS-Ninja-Beach-Party-Black-Ale.html#.U9cF2Se9KSM I received an extra ounce of Saaz hops. Should i dry hop with it or would it be an extra step for nothing? Opinions? Also, I've never made this recipe before and have no idea...

    Bitter Porter

Meh, they took it down off the website and I tossed it. Oh well. Just have to give it some time then.

    Bitter Porter

I've been brewing for a few years and have always had a glass right out of the fermenter and it's always awesome. This time my Porter tastes extremely bitter. Will this mellow out and if so, how long? I'm certain I didn't burn it. It was a cheap anniversary sale recipe from AHS if that...

    Help Picking a Kegerator

Ok, so I finally got the funds and went with the Danby today. After buying the kegs, upgrading the regulator, and shipping it was $840, I didn't want to breach $900 so I didn't go with the Kegco. Hope I made the right decision!

Burned a 1/4 in hole in my grain bag

    Sweet. Thanks guys!

Burned a 1/4 in hole in my grain bag

Sooooo....I forgot to lift the bag when adjusting heat while mini mashing about 15 minutes into it. When i picked the bag up, it stuck to the bottom but I couldn't see the quarter inch hole so didn't know it was there. Finished the other 30 minutes of the steeping, sparged, emptied the bag in...

    Help Picking a Kegerator

After some bottling sanitation issues and getting fed up with the process, I've decided to get into kegging. My wife says it has to be something that looks nice in the kitchen, so probably not going to convert something, but for what I'm wanting the prices are looking high. I think I've...

Some kinds of beer give me headaches...why?

Well, I started this thread and its been two years of home brewing and no more headaches. Even if I drink until i'm plastered on home brew, I get no headaches. I've brewed IPA's, Browns, Porters, Stouts, you name it and no more headaches. What I found was bothering me was an alcohol booster...

Two batches with off taste, bitter, overcarbonation

I take my bottling equipment and hoses apart and soak it too. I can try replacing the tubing anyway though. I sanitize my bottle caps and reach for them out of the solution as I bottle. I took my beer to the home brew shop and they immediately confirmed foreign yeast infection. I also let...

Two batches with off taste, bitter, overcarbonation

Ok, two batches in a row with this same problem. I haven't changed my brewing method and have been brewing for two years now with mini mash recipes. When I open the bottle, half the contents foam out. What I can get into the glass has a bitter after taste and has more sediment than what...

    Liquor in the Secondary

Ok, so it's better not to add any straight rum to the secondary? I was already successful in making a good beer with the last batch with just rum soaked chips, but have seen recipes that add straight liquor to the secondary. Mainly these were bourbon barrel porters and ales. I want to try this...
