Thanks! I often get that it looks like a bomb, or a device they'd use in Ghostbusters. All I know is it makes some pretty great beer!

While not as technically advanced as most of your guys' set ups, this was my toolbox-contained RIMS project. First time taking anything like this on, and I'm pretty pleased with how it turned out. The pump is enclosed in the toolbox, so I added an input and an output fan on the back to keep it...

    Chugger pump sooo hot!

Yes they get a bit hot, yes you can throttle on the OUTPUT of the pump with a ball valve, but I don't know the answer to your question about the oil unfortunately...

    SS Brewtech

Not to hijack, but SS recently started stocking their own butterfly valves. I ordered two last night to replace the stock valves on my Chronical. Can't speak as to the value/quality yet, but I've been impressed with everything I've gotten from them so far, so I don't expect these to be any...

    SS Brewtech

Spartan, do you have a link to the feet you got off of Amazon? I've got the Chronical, and hate the pads they have on the legs.

    SS Brewtech

I've been very pleased with their gear so far. I've got a boil kettle and a chronical fermenter with the fermentation temp controller. Yeah it's a bit pricy, but I'm impressed with the overall quality.

    Ss Brewing or MegaPot

I can't speak to the Megapot, but I recently picked up a SS kettle and chronical fermenter with temp control. A far as I'm concerned, SS Brewtech has a new customer for life. I'm in love with my new gear.

Product Review: SsBrewTech Brew Bucket and FTSs

I love SS Brewtech gear. I've currently got the FTSs set up on my 7 gallon Chronical, and the thing is amazing. Surprisingly for being in San Diego it's been pretty cool lately, but I'm looking forward to having this thing running in the summer. Highly recommend for people that don't have the...

How many gallons of homebrew in 2015?

    4718 + 6 Gallons of English Style IPA = 4724

    Pliney the Younger is here!

I had it a few years ago down here in San Diego. I'm glad that I did, it was a great beer, but it didn't live up to the second-coming-of-the-messiah hype that surrounds it. Only a few people knew the bar was even tapping it that morning. They passed out tickets an hour before they tapped the...

Going to San Diego for a week

I am going to second Hess Brewing in North Park. Small but great brewery. The place can get a little crowded, but it is an awesome setup.

Help Sizing Pipe for Cleanable CFC for my build

I just built mine using the byo article as reference. I used 20 feet of 1/2 in. copper tubing. Haven't gotten around to testing it yet, but I'll be sure to check back once I have.

My Ss brew bucket arived, quality up to par with yours?

The dimpling on the inside is pretty normal. I just received the 7 gallon chronical, and had the same marks where the handles/legs are. I can't imagine the scratches on the inside of the lid leading to any problems. I know the feeling of wanting everything to look cosmetically pristine with our...

    ZChiller Counterflow?

Trying to hold off until I get my tax return. I don't know if that's going to happen... ;)

    ZChiller Counterflow?

Very curious about these. Anybody else have any first-hand experience with these?

What I did for beer today

Finally finished my toolbox-enclosed RIMS build (that I hesitantly started in August with very little idea what I was doing...), and ordered a SS Brew Kettle to go with the Chronical/FTSs I picked up over the holidays. It's been a good month for homebrew :D:D:D

    Beginner Wiring Question

Well now I wish I didn't think it was malfunctioning and take it all apart... Thanks!!

    Beginner Wiring Question

Hey guys, I've been building (with much help and supervision) a toolbox-enclosed RIMS system for what feels like the better part of a lifetime. I've finally got everything running and fully operational except for the e-stop. I had it wired up like it is in P-J's diagrams (Hot to a 1 amp fuse...

    Cleaning buckets to remove odor?

From experience, I can tell you that bleach doesn't do the trick. I tried everything, but the pickle smell is persistent. Hope you find something though, it'd be good to know!

    RIMS Thermocouple Issues

Aaaaaaand I feel like an idiot, but I was working on this thing from the top down and not looking at it straight on, and put the white wire on 3 instead of 5... It's been a long day :cross:
