    Bottle beer in kombucha bottle??

Bottled two of one batch neither exploded and no infections. I bottled another two of the next batch and they've been carbing for two weeks and are still in one piece. Only thing of note is that the caps bulged a little on the top. The first two were also a little over carbed for my liking...

    Bottle beer in kombucha bottle??

Bottled today so filled up two of the kombucha bottles. Saw an old mr beer manual said 1 tsp sugar per 16 oz bottle so did just a slight bit under that I'll post on how it goes they'll be fermenting away in a hopefully bottlebomb proof Tupperware. I've also been using these bottles to house...

    Bottle beer in kombucha bottle??

Not worried about shelf life I'll only be bottling half or so of each batch in these (if they aren't beer filled grenades) and I'll just drink them first plus at 2.5 gallon batches nothin sticks around too long. Think I already have a buyer for the kegerator. The LHBS (if you can call 2.5...

    Bottle beer in kombucha bottle??

I'll give it a go next bottle session may even throw extra sugar in one to test the upper limit (in an explosion proof container of course). The wild yeast doesn't bother me starsan'll kill them dead and I'll run the bottles through the dishwasher on santitize. I'll let you know how it turns...

    Bottle beer in kombucha bottle??

Maybe a dumb question but.....anybody bottled beer in a used glass kombucha bottle like this? Kombucha is carbonated but usually not as high as beer but since it's a live product figured they'd have to be designed to hold greater pressure if it were to keep fermenting. I'll probably just do...

This Really Annoys Me Pet Peeve Thread

Ok I took a couple more pictures to submit to your honors at the court of public opinion. So the vehicle in question had the opportunity to park here along this fence (even with one car there at the time there was room for probably two more) INSTEAD said car in question parked to the left...

This Really Annoys Me Pet Peeve Thread

Maybe I wasn't clear in my explanation. I could care less if anyone parks in front of my house but where he was parked did block a part that could be used for parking AND was right in front of the basketball hoop my son uses daily. There were plenty of other places to park. Not only did I...

    Cheap temp controllers

Saw this pop up on an amazon email and I hadn't seen it before sorry if this has been discussed but could this be used with a small pump in a recirculated BIAB setup with a 1650W element. It looks ok as far as power but would it switch on and off constantly and burn out the relays real quick...

This Really Annoys Me Pet Peeve Thread

THIS!!!!!!! Two cars are roofers working across the street. Park in front of that house d-bags. And yes you are technically on the street but red car while you aren't blocking my garage (which is further to the right) you are blocking part of my property that can be used for parking and are...

I guess I should also get a consensus on my math but that original pan's dimensions are: 22.1 x 14.1 x 6.2. I figure that includes the lip around it so let's take an inch from the length and width and knock the depth to an even 6". That gives 21 x 13 x 6 = 1638 cubic inches I have no formula...

I agree I'm not worrying so much about infection but mainly just so I can get a full 5 gallons I don't get that much time to brew that extra gallon is worth it to me

I wish I did like sours and saisons that thing coupled with high Texas temps would work well but sadly I like clean non-estery beers. Well I should clarify that- Light fruity English esters good, Belgiany saisony esters baaaaad. I've had a bottle of duvel in my fridge for over a year I MIGHT...

This is what I really want (@7 gallon) but I can only find them on alibaba and they tell me there's a minimum order quantity that is far more than one.

Looking to downsize in the future which may mean giving up the ferm fridge this is the best vessel I can find with flat sides that I could attach peltiers to (if it's feasible that they could knock temp down 20degrees). I also make a lot of English styles and they've been fermenting in...

    120V system needs help

If you're completely set on three vessel then disregard but you could always simplify the system and just BIAB in your boil kettle maybe with a simple pour over sparge if you're shooting for 10 gallon batches. You would still need two circuits but not share them between three powered kettles...

Thanks for replies I have this crazy idea to ferment in something like this Which should be right about 6.5 gallons but due to it being so shallow would only give me about 1.5 inches of headspace. I think I could solve this by making a gasket out of a silicone baking mat and putting this on...

    Thermoelectric glycol chiller

Other idea was to put the cold reservoir in the beer itself. If I attached this to the lid of my bucket so it hung down into the wort: Then inserted this tiny submersible pump into it Which would run out the top through something like this And back down to the reservoir in a loop. But...
