    Lazy?

I'm with you as far as the big beers go. Tripels and Wee Heavy, Olde Ales and such I'm sure I'll always bottle simply because I don't drink through the batch that fast. I'll only have one or two of those a week. Mostly because they wreck me. I'm a light weight. Small beers of the house...

    What are you drinking now?

Bavarian Hefewiezien. 4 weeks in bottle and still a little green. Should be right in another couple weeks. Here's hoping the graff is further along since my nut brown is just plain messed up. Brewers error.

SWMBO approved the kegerator, but it can't look like a freezer

The coffin keezer list is a good starting point for research. https://www.homebrewtalk.com/f51/coffin-keezer-list-256871/

Labor Day = Brewing Day!! What you guys got planned?

My Holiday plans include, Bottling the Hefe. Bottling the Tripel, if I have enough empties or can create them. Starting a batch of Brand0n's Graff Sampling the Nut Brown to see if 2 weeks is enough conditioning creating more empties.

How much beer do you drink daily?

My consumption really depends on how late I get home. When I don't find the couch until 9:30 or so I'll have 1 or 2 bottles. If I get that lucky night that I get to come straight home from work I'll have 3 or 4. No noticed wieght gain yet, but this is the time of year my wieght bottoms out...

Update for anyone that was interested. The wheat mellowed out and is ok after a week in the fridge. I wouldn't say it's GOOD. I'm not proud to say I made this, so won't be sharing with anyone. It's drinkable, that's about it. Good news, I tried one of my 4th batch and it doesn't have...

    Next Brew

Opened my first bottle of the AK-47 last night. It's a winner. Definitely prefered over the american wheat I have in the fridge. Taste wise, I'd call it a lighter version of Smithwicks. Saluki might be dead on with his review, but I've never had his comparisons, Smithwicks is the closest...

    Yeast reuse questions.

Hrm...I'm thinking I'll play it safe and buy a fresh pack of yeast for the Patersbier and wash that for future use. I don't want to experiment with a recipe the first time I make it. I suppose I'll wash the tripel yeast and keep it a while, maybe use it in the future if I do the tripel or...

    Yeast reuse questions.

I've got a Tripel in the primary now that I'll move that to a secondary in a couple weeks. I was looking at another recipe that uses the same yeast. NB Patersbier. Trappist High Gravity Wyeast. I've seen suggestions about not washing or reusing yeast from high gravity batches. Should I...

pretty sure the hops were good. Good high volume reputable companies. Hops were in the mylar vaccum sealed bags. They only sat around in my house for a few days before being used. They should be fine. I thought about the hops since it was a sort of bitter ick thing, but the amounts used and...

    Consistent off flavor

24 - 48 hours in the fridge before drinking, I've been keeping them at room temp to aid in the bottle conditioning keeping the yeast active. I'm gonna put a few bottles in tonight and leave them until I get back from vacation next weekend to see if they are better with more chill/cold crash...

A: If I hold one up to the light and swish it I can see stuff swirling around. There isn't really a sediment layer in any of the bottles I've opened. Those were the things that got me thinking it's stuff in suspension that are giving me the taste. B: Sanitiser maybe. Crap I hope not. I...

Could be if that's a risk. I cooled it in the pot (ice bath) until it hit 80 then transfered to the fermenter using a long pour to aerate it. Pitched the yeast as soon as I cleaned up any splatters and drips.

The tripel I have in the primary now was kicked with a 1L starter and a pitch temp about 65 degrees. I really need to get a digital thermometer. The canning thermo I stole from my wife isn't the easiest to read. Now just to wait a few months and see if the tripel has this flavor. :( It...

Yep. Same water both times. Our well water tastes like A$$. High sulfer and iron content. We get water delivered monthly for drinking purposes. That's what I used. Hinckley Springs drinking water delivered in 5 gal carboys. It tastes good to drink, I suppose there could be something odd in...
